Deacons is one of the most prominent and experienced law firms in Hong Kong and was the first firm to obtain licences to operate in 3 representative offices in mainland China.  For more than 30 years, our China Practice Group has helped clients to establish and expand their businesses in China.  We are inviting applications from high calibre lawyers to join either one of our offices in Beijing or Shanghai.

Applicants should ideally be admitted as Hong Kong solicitors; however we will also welcome applicants with requisite legal skills who have been admitted in other jurisdictions.  Applicants should have at least 3 years (for middle level) and at least 7 years (for senior level) of post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial areas with solid relevant China experience.  Applicants must possess strong written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese with total fluency in Putonghua.  Applicants should be dynamic, ambitious, hard working and a team player.   This is an exciting opportunity to join an established law firm to gain exposure to top quality work. Deacons has a well-established and substantial litigation practice in Hong Kong.    We are seeking a high calibre lawyer with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in the construction field, to join our Commercial Litigation Practice Group of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department.  Applicants must be Hong Kong admitted solicitors, possess solid technical legal skills and have had exposure to a variety of commercial litigation and arbitration cases.  The successful candidate will work closely with a team of experienced lawyers and will have the opportunity to get involved in challenging and high quality work. Applicants must have excellent English and Chinese language skills.  Proficiency in Putonghua is definitely an advantage but not essential.

Deacons has one of Hong Kong's leading Intellectual Property practices.  We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual with one or two years of China IP experience to join our China IP Group.  The successful candidate will handle a wide range of related contentious and non-contentious matters.

Applicants should be fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and English.  Preferably candidates should be Hong Kong-admitted solicitors but we actively consider applicants with requisite legal skills who have been admitted in a jurisdiction other than Hong Kong.

We are looking for a bright lawyer with at least 1 year PQE, ideally in the financial services, funds and regulatory area.  Applicants with a China commercial or corporate finance background, wishing to make a career change, would also be considered.

  • Solicitors from overseas jurisdictions need not be admitted in Hong Kong, although experience in Hong Kong / Asian markets would be an advantage.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English is a prerequisite.  Chinese is essential and Mandarin would be an advantage.
  • All applicants should have an excellent academic record, a sound training to international standards and strong inter-personal skills.

We are seeking a high calibre Hong Kong admitted solicitor with solid experience to join our well-established Property Department.  Our conveyancing practice is diversified and our clientele includes major property developers, renowned local and international banking and financial institutions, private and listed companies. 

Depending on the candidate's experience, the successful candidate will handle property related  work including but not limited to sale and purchase of properties or acquisition/ disposal of property owning companies, loans and mortgages, leasing, tenancy agreements, joint ventures, property management related advice project development work and property related commercial work, depending on the candidate's experience.  Applicants should be meticulous and conscientious, with good interpersonal and communication skills. Good English and Chinese language skills are required.
