Annie Tsoi, partner and co-head of Intellectual Property was recently interviewed for the Classified Post’s ‘Power profile’ in the High Flyer section. The article, titled ‘ Defending Rights’ explores Annie’s career path and how she ended up working in IP, despite thinking she would become a banking lawyer when she was at University. Annie commented “You could say I got into this area be default…I had a summer placement with a boutique firm specialising in IP and fell in love with it. I find its closer to real life and normal everyday things.”
The article explores the scope of IP work today, which extends past patents, copyright, trademark and design to domain names, trade secrets and data privacy. Annie also discusses the work she does in China and how the environment has improved in recent years, before talking about her upbringing and the factors that inspired her career motivation, and what continues to inspire her today.
