Deacons Ranked a Global 50 Firm for the Second Year
15 August 2005
For the second consecutive year, Deacons has been ranked as a Global 50 Firm by the PLC Which Lawyer? (formerly known as Global Counsel 3000), an international guide to the legal markets and regulation of lawyers.
The Global 50 Firms are the world's top 50 law firms that received the greatest depth of recommendation across the core corporate, finance and commercial practice areas covered by the research. Recommendations are based on surveys of in-house counsel in the legal markets of over 70 jurisdictions worldwide.
The research recognised Deacons' unrivalled network across Asia: "Deacons' identity is not tied to any one particular jurisdiction, but to a region, being one of the very few law firms that can claim to be a truly Asia-Pacific operation." The review also stated that "with depth and breadth across the region, it has enviable links to some of Hong Kong’s leading corporates."
Deacons also received recognition in six "Global 50 Areas of Excellence" for its expertise and reputation for excellence in the following areas of practice: Banking & Finance, Corporate Real Estate, Dispute Resolution, Life Sciences, Projects, and Restructuring & Insolvency. Deacons' "construction practice also deserves special mention, consisting of a team brimming with expertise."
