Deacons wins 2009 Hong Kong Law Firm, PRC Office of the Year and the 2009 Real Estate and Construction Deal of the Year at the ALB China Awards 29 April 2009 On 25 April 2009, Deacons was awarded the 2009 Hong Kong Law Firm, PRC Office of the Year and the 2009 Real Estate and Construction Deal of the Year at the Asian Legal Business China Awards ceremony held in Shanghai. Myles Seto and Vickie Liang of the firm's China Practice Group accepted the awards on behalf of the firm. Deacons won the ALB China Hong Kong Law Firm, PRC Office of the Year award in 2008 and 2006. The Real Estate & Construction Deal of the Year was Asia Pacific's acquisition of The Center in Shanghai from Hutchison Harbour Ring Limited at a consideration of RMB4.4billion. Deacons' Corporate Finance Practice Group acted for the seller, Hutchison Harbour Ring Limited, in this transaction. The ALB China Law Awards 2009 is organised by the prominent legal publication Asian Legal Business, recognising the excellence of China's leading law firms and the top deals and dealmakers of 2008. Over 400 of China's business leaders including investment bankers, solicitors, in-house counsel, judiciary, CEOs and CFOs attended the event.
