Deacons lawyer speaks at two high profile events 27 March 2007 Deacons’ IP Partner Charmaine Koo was invited by the Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) to speak at the Film Business Plan Presentation Workshop co-organised by the Hong Kong independent Short Film and Video Awards (IFVA) on 3 March 2007 together with other prominent industry veterans. The three day workshop was attended by Hong Kong producers, directors and writers. Charmaine spoke on "Intellectual Property Issues in the Production and Exploitation of Films". The seminar was very well received and ran overtime because of the participants' enthusiastic response. Later in the month, at the invitation of the UK Trade Commissioner, Charmaine presented to the "Forward Ladies Mission" visiting Hong Kong from the UK on 19 March at the British Consulate. The Mission comprised women entrepreneurs and professionals interested in forming business partnerships or expanding their business activities in Hong Kong and China. Charmaine briefed the Mission on "Intellectual Property Issues to Consider When Doing Business in Hong Kong and China" and introduced Deacons' general capabilities in the Region.
